Milena Moraes is a Postdoctoral fellow at the University of Coimbra since January 2024, on the SCREENHEALTH project, a cohort study with preschool children aiming to analyze trajectories in the use of electronic devices and the impact on physical and mental health. Nutritionist (2009), with a specialization in Clinical Nutrition with focus on Cardiology and high complexity (2011), Master’s degree in Human Nutrition (2011) and PhD in Nutritional Sciences (2016), with an internship at the University of Zaragoza (2014- 2015). After three years of postdoctoral experience in research and lecturing in Brazil, she has been a professor at Escola Superior de Saúde Norte da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa (2022-2024) and a Postdoctoral fellow at the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences of the University of Porto (FCNAUP) (2019-2022) and at the Entre Douro e Vouga Hospital Center (CHEDV) (2023). She is a PhD researcher collaborating with the Laboratory for Integrative and Translational Research in Population Health (ITR) in the Laboratory of Food Habits Assessment and Determinants.
Her areas of professional interest are nutritional and obesity epidemiology, with particular interest in anthropometric and body composition assessment, cardiometabolic risk, eating habits, dietary surveys and consumption of ultra-processed foods.
