Harriet Evans is Professor Emerita of Chinese Cultural Studies at the University of Westminster, and Visiting Professor of Anthropology at the London School of Economics. She is the author of Beijing from Below: Stories of Marginal Lives in the Capital’s Center (Duke University Press, 2020) and co-edited Grassroots Values and Local Cultural Heritage in China (Lexington Books, 2021).
