Dr. Zorrilla-Revilla is an evolutionary anthropologist studying Human Behavioral Ecology and Human Life History through the adaptations of human metabolic and energetic requirements. He obtained his Ph.D. at the Univ. of Burgos and the Spanish National Research Centre for Human Evolution (CENIEH), Spain (2022), focused on non-adults’ energy expenditure and the consequences for human evolution, including metabolic data of more than 150 individuals. He has been also involved in studies with adult populations, thus, he has experience recruiting and testing more than 500 individuals. Therefore, he has gained experience working in human energetics and body composition and already has multiple publications. He actively collaborates with the international group of Human Biology, Health and Society from the Research Centre for Anthropology and Health (Univ. of Coimbra, Portugal), but also with Virginia Tech University (USA) where he is collaborating in an international project applying the Doubly Labelled Water technique and the Univ. of Aberdeen (UK). He is part of the international group Forager Child Studies which publishes open-access papers. Besides, he has been part of the international Atapuerca project for several years, an important enclave to learn about Human Evolution. He also combines his research with scientific dissemination, publishing in newspapers and giving talks in schools and universities. Currently, he is a Postdoctoral researcher at the Univ. of Burgos (Spain) and Virginia Tech Univ. (US).
