Federica De Luca is a PhD student in Environmental Sustainability and Wellbeing at the University of Ferrara – Italy, where her research focuses on biological anthropology and anthropometry.
Her doctoral project investigates menopause in both past and contemporary populations, to define a protocol to identify possible skeletal traits associated with menopause.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Trento (2018) and a Master’s degree from the University of Ferrara (2021), where she completed a thesis on paleoparasitology.
Beyond her academic studies, she has gained valuable experience as a research collaborator at the University of Ferrara, working as a lab instructor for the Laboratory of Human Skeletal Biology and Biology of Developmental and Aging Stages. In 2023, she was a research fellow on the project “New methodologies for estimating body composition in ancient and contemporary populations”.
Since 2023, she has been a Disciplinary Tutor for the Anthropology course (12 credits) in the Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Sciences, Practice and Management of Sports Activities at the IUL Online University of Studies. In addition, she has co-supervised several Master’s theses (12) in forensic anthropology, biological anthropology, and anthropometry.
