Ángel Rubio Salvador is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Juan de la Cierva Grant, Government of Spain) at the Institut Català de Paleoecologia Humana I Evolució Social (IPHES-CERCA, Tarragona, Spain). His postdoctoral mobility is part of another research project, for which he is a funded Principal Investigator (PI) (Ministry of Science and Innovation and universities of the Government of Spain), called the José Castillejo Grant. The present project is founded upon the implementation of novel microscopic techniques for the analysis of dental fractures (chipping) in osteological series from the recent prehistory of Portugal. The primary objective of this study is to conduct a comparative analysis of the prevalence of chipping between the southeastern Spanish peninsula and the Atlantic coast, under the supervision of Ana Maria Silva. The purpose of this comparison is to approximate aspects of the diet and extramasticatory tasks performed by these past populations.
