Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Aveiro and is currently a second-year student in the Master’s programme in Human Evolution and Biology at the Department of Life Sciences, University of Coimbra. As part of his undergraduate studies, he completed a professional internship during which he carried out activities in the fields of ecology and species conservation — with a greater focus on primates — camera trapping, taxidermy, preservation of biological material, detection of pathogens in wildlife, and herpetology, among others. This experience provided much of his practical and professional training. His master’s project aims to identify the non-human primate species inhabiting the forests of the municipality of Nova Olinda do Norte, within the region of Manaus. He also intends to conduct a population census focused on these species and to develop a behavioural study on Mico chrysoleucos (the golden-white tassel-ear marmoset) in the same area. The population census will follow the distance sampling methodology along linear transects, while the behavioural study will employ the scan sampling method.
