Funded with around 2.5 million euros under the ERA Chair Actions, the “OBICODE” project aims to enhance the University of Coimbra’s research in Anthropology. It will develop and test a model to study the social origins of obesity across generations influenced by the digital ecosystem, translating findings into policy and intervention messages. Professor Stanley Ulijaszek from the University of Oxford will be the ERA Chair Holder, with Cristina Padez and Daniela Rodrigues from the University of Coimbra’s Research Centre for Anthropology and Health (CIAS) also involved.
