Camila Seco Dias is a PhD student in Anthropology at the University of Coimbra, where she is pursuing a specialization in Biological Anthropology, and a Junior Researcher at the Research Centre for Anthropology and Health (CIAS). She graduated in Biology from the University of Coimbra in 2022 and obtained her Master’s degree in Forensic Anthropology from the same institution in 2024. Her Master’s research focused on the prevalence of Hyperostosis Frontalis Interna (HFI) in the 21st Century Identified Skeletal Collection at the University of Coimbra. Using computed tomography and 3D cranial reconstruction, she examined the relationship between this condition, biological sex, and age at death.

Throughout her academic path, she has developed solid skills in forensic osteology, medical imaging, Biological Anthropology, and statistical analysis applied to forensic sciences. Passionate about the interdisciplinary nature of Forensic Anthropology, she believes that collaboration among professionals and a focus on innovation are fundamental to advancing the field. Her research interests focus on developing new methodologies for osteological identification and investigating biological markers to enhance our understanding of both contemporary and archaeological populations.
