I am a PhD student in Forensic Anthropology at the University of Coimbra, where my research focuses on integrating machine learning algorithms with forensic anthropology to enhance skeletal analysis and forensic identification. My work aims to apply these techniques to improve the accuracy and efficiency of traditional methods in analyzing human remains. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Salerno (2020) and a Master’s degree in Forensic Biology from the University of Florence (2022).
Beyond my academic work, I have gained valuable experience as a research collaborator at the Institute of Applied Physics “Nello Carrara” (IFAC-CNR) in Florence, where I supported data collection and analysis for multiple projects. This experience significantly enhanced my ability to apply machine learning techniques to real-world problems, particularly in the context of data analysis for anthropological applications.
In addition, I have gained hands-on experience through fieldwork in Italy, Spain, Serbia, and Croatia, where I contributed to excavations and analyzed skeletal remains. These experiences have deepened my understanding of human skeletal variation and reinforced the practical applications of forensic anthropology.
