Research group: Past cultures and populations
The study of the human past is my broadest professional interest. Specifically, I focus on the genomics of ancient human populations by directly accessing their DNA. The main questions I research about are migrations, population affinities, and trait selection, with an interest in the Neolithic and Bronze population movements in Southern Europe and the Mediterranean islands. Methodological experimentation, protocols development, and optimization of existing ones for ancient DNA is also a topic I work on extensively.
