Bruna Coelho holds a master’s degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Coimbra. She is part of the international research network Sci-Tech Asia as a research assistant, and she is the cofounder of the science communication project “Antropia”. She received the Francisco Tavares Rosa Award 2021 with the essay “A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words: Usage of Brain Imaging in Self-Help Books”. In 2021 she was also the recipient of a Fulbright scholarship for research in collaboration with the Luso-American Foundation (FLAD), having spent a semester at New York University (NYU) as a research affiliate. During this period, she comes into contact with the ultraorthodox Jewish communities of Brooklyn, where she develops a special interest on the role of women in the construction of the urban landscape in these communities. Since then, she develops research in this field.
