Professor Ana Luísa Santos was in South America during the last month.

For the 8th Paleopathology Association Meeting in South America (PAMinSA VIII), that took place from August 14 to 16, 2019 in the city of São Paulo, she made two presentations: “Portuguese Paleopathology: Taking the stock and glancing at the future”, co-authored by Marques C. and “Paleoparasitology in Europe: Pioneering studies in Portugal” co-authored by Sianto L. Still within the meeting, Ana Luísa co-organized the simposium Paleopathology: What is there behind the borders and was part of the jury for the award of best poster and oral communications. 

Enjoying the stay in Brazil, Ana Luísa presented two conferences by invitation. The first, entitled “Antropologia Biológica na Universidade de Coimbra: quem somos e o que fazemos” at the Museu de Arqueologia e Paleontologia da Universidade Federal do Piauí and the second – “Por que se estudam os esqueletos humanos?” – at the Campus do Sertão, Universidade Federal de Alagoas.
