The archaeological project “Cueva de La Dehesilla: Estudio arqueológico y paleoambiental para el conocimiento de la ocupación humana prehistórica de la Sierra de Cádiz” is directed by Professor Dr. Daniel García Rivero of the Department of Prehistory and Archeology of the University of Seville, with the collaboration of specialists of the Superior Council of Scientific Research-CSIC, Archaeological Museum of Jerez de la Frontera and the Universities of Córdoba, Huelva, Algarve, Coimbra, Pablo de Olavide and the UNED.
CIAS is represented by Professor Dr. Cláudia Umbelino and two researchers, Daniela Pacheco and Leonor Vale. The two young researchers received a grant opened by CIAS in late May.
The major aim of the project is to analyze the archaeological record of the cave located in the Sierra de Cádiz from a historical paleoecological view of the diverse populations that occupied it.
